First, you may want to start by reading our review. The goodies and some of the bad stuff is listed in there. But once you've got the basics out of the way, you'll want to know which apps to use for your phone. Here are a few good ones to help get you started!
1. Facebook
You may already be a Facebook user, or perhaps you've had experience with the Facebook app on Android or iPhone before this new device. But it is worth mentioning because Facebook on Android has finally received anupdate that makes it faster and more efficient than before. It's a native app now and not just a makeshift portal using the Web via HTML5. Given the power and large, beautiful display on your DROID DNA, the Facebook experience is going to be great.
2. Falcon Pro
Android has some nice Twitter accounts, but they're not that great. I hear a lot about Twicca and Plume, but quite frankly, they're just ugly apps. Sure, they carry some decent functionality, but they are truly ugly. Falcon Pro is a gorgeous app that is feature rich and very easy to use. It doesn't have push notifications or support for multiple accounts yet, but those will come in time. For just 99 cents, you are getting an outstanding Twitter app. Give it a go, I think you'll love it.
3. Netflix
The DROID DNA's key feature is its ridiculously sharp and large display. You really need to see it to appreciate it, and when you do, you'll find that apps like Netflix are great. Whether you're on 4G LTE or on Wi-Fi, the quality of Netflix on the DROID DNA is incredible. I feel like I could watch videos all day on the device, so definitely download this one and sign up for an account if you haven't already. It's only $7.99 per month.
4. Snapseed
Along with the beautiful screen, great for photo editing, the DROID DNA has an excellent camera, too. You'll definitely want to take advantage of it by grabbing some good photo editing apps. What I love about Snapseed is its UI and the fact that it is easy to use. One cool feature is the selective dodging and burning features, a simple tool for getting exposure set correctly, but a feature that is missing from so many photo editing apps. It was once a paid app, but Snapseed is free as of the time of this writing!
5. Google+
I find it strange that I'm recommending this app, but Google+ has grown on me over the past few weeks. And if you're using Android, it's probably because you also love some of Google's products and services. With its new updates, Google+ looks prettier than ever, so you know what that means -- it's going to look great on your DROID DNA. It's free, so go ahead and grab it.
6. Amazing Alex
Rovio, makers of Angry Birds, has created another hit with Amazing Alex. There is a free version and a paid version without ads, so everyone can get it. The game seems a little over-simplified at first, but give it some time as it gets more difficult and it will grow on you. The graphics and colors look great on the DROID DNA, so you'll be able to appreciate the game play and its aesthetics.
7. Instagram
I feel like Instagram is one of a handful of must-have apps when you buy a new Android or iOS device. It's wildly popular for good reason. Ignoring the filters or food photos that people like to poke fun at, and you'll see that it's a great way to see the world through the eyes of your friends, strangers and even celebrities. On the DROID DNA, pictures look sharp and large, which is always great. And it's free, too.
8. Flashlight
It definitely may sound weird, but get a flashlight app. More specifically, Flashlight. It works great and comes in handy when you least expect it. I've always had a flashlight app on every device I've owned, and it helps me find my keys in the dark, get through my apartment halls at night and it was even super useful during power outages when Hurricane Sandy hit.
